Our Core Activities
Focus 1 - Learning Environments
Enhancing the early learning environment for young children, working with knowledge experts in England and local individuals in Uganda with local knowledge.
There is insufficient investment in Early Childhood education in rural Uganda and we are working to change this, one setting at a time. We aim to support the timely supply of necessary resources and equipment to ensure a quality learning environment is available to children in their most formative years.
We need support in terms of financial donations but also welcome specific donations of equipment that can enhance learning environments too.
Focus 2 - Teacher Development
Raising competence and confidence of teachers, working with existing groups of educators doing great work already.
There are many passionate individuals working with children in rural Uganda and this is the first essential trait needed. To build on this, with the right training and education, these passionate individuals can do so much more to support the development of the children in their settings.
We plan to provide a range of resources to support teacher development and invite individuals wanting to contribute their area of expertise to this body of knowledge.
Focus 3 - Parent Engagement
Promoting early learning in communities, with a particular focus on parent engagement is an essential step to take to ensure the value of early childhood education is widely understood and appreciated.
Without parent buy-in, attendance figures are very low and mean that children are not able to engage consistently and purposeful with their own education and development.
We plan to provide insightful information documents for parents to ensure the benefits of engagement in early childhood education is obvious. In turn we hope to see improved and consistent attendance at the settings we support.
